The various target sites of plastic surgery
The abdomen (ABDOMEN SURGERY LONDON, LYON, GENEVA)
Abdominoplasty is the number one requested procedure among 80% of patients.
The procedure consists in:
- Fat removal.
- Removal of excess skin above and below the belly button.
- Repair of muscles slackened either by pregnancies or by the growth of fat mass when the individual is obese.

The final incision is sutured from below, above the pubis, and extends from hip to hip to be concealed by a swimsuit. The triangle of pubic hair is replaced in the right area.
Additional liposuction also helps reduce the size of the mons veneris.
Post-operative care is usually simple, with hospitalization required for about a week. Possible complications mainly include thromboembolic risk (lower extremity phlebitis or pulmonary embolism, which require prevention) and wound-healing problems (hematomas, abscesses, etc.).
The patient must not work for a period of one month. In France, Social Security covers expenses in case of functional discomfort.
The Breasts (BREAST SURGERY LONDON, LYON, GENEVA)
Breasts fulfil two very important functions, i.e. erotic and infant-feeding.
They also have huge psychological repercussions and any deficiency in shape or size can lead to a feeling of malaise. Furthermore, back pain is possible in case of high excess weight.

Inner Thighs (THIGH SURGERY LONDON, LYON, GENEVA)
This part of the body is among those where the skin is at its thinnest. During weight loss, the skin retracts very little and forms an unsightly roll of fat-containing flesh.
All these factors lead to aesthetic and functional discomfort ("rubbing thighs"). The procedure is highly effective (it is possible to remove up to 1.5 kg per thigh) and discrete because the scar is concealed at the root of the thigh.

The only inconvenience is the length of the wound-healing period: it is longer than usual and more disabling because the scar is located in a relatively mobile skin fold prone to friction and humidity.
Furthermore, coverage by French Social Security is disputed as this procedure is not part of the nomenclature of reimbursed medical treatments.
The Body Lift (BODY LIFT SURGERY LONDON, LYON, GENEVA)
This is a complete body lift with an all-around scar hidden by the swimsuit.
This procedure is almost always associated with liposuction on the side of the thighs.
The surgery is relatively complex due to the quantity of removed skin (20 to 30 cm in height all around the body), tissue weight (4 to 6 kg on average and sometimes more), duration (4 to 5 hours) and because the procedure simultaneously tightens the stomach, thighs, hips and buttocks.

Results are often spectacular. However, the after-effects of the surgery are marked by heavy fatigue. Coverage is not automatically granted by French Social Security and requires prior authorization.
The arms (ARM SURGERY LONDON, LYON, GENEVA)
Excess fat and mostly excess skin may be a great impediment in dressing.
Reshaping procedures in this body area remain in high demand.
The procedure is relatively minor and the scar well-hidden on the inside of the arm.
The intervention can be combined with another type of surgery such as breast reduction.
The face (FACE SURGERY LONDON, LYON, GENEVA)
- The face lift can reduce skin ptosis on the face and neck.
- Bone structure, heredity and cutaneous texture each play an important role with respect to the results that can be obtained with a face lift and to a certain extent also to the duration of the procedure. The desired result is to make the patient look "good and in shape for her age".
After surgery, the skin undergoes temporary changes in colour. The face and neck may feel like "cardboard" to the touch and be subject to sensations of pulling.
The wound healing process is gradual. It is necessary to be patient and wait for several weeks before the best results are finally obtained.
Most scars are hidden inside hair, within the folds of normal facial furrows or behind the ears.
These scars can usually be concealed with specific hair styles and suitable makeup.
The skin remains weakened for several weeks after the operation. The patient is required to reduce sun exposure and protect her skin with a total sunblock cream.
Makeup may be applied a short period after the procedure.
