Rhinoplasty
This procedure is intended to reshape the nose and correct certain unsightly aspects that may be congenital or caused by trauma.
In general, rhinoplasty is only performed from the age of adolescence onwards.
THE PROCEDURE
The techniques used vary depending on the required changes.
As far as scarring is concerned, it is most frequently located inside the nose and therefore invisible.
The surgeon may use the open rhinoplasty technique, which necessitates a small incision at the base of the nose, which nevertheless remains barely visible. The patient will always be informed of this.
THE AFTER-EFFECTS
There is no pain after rhinoplasty, patients experience at the most a sensation of discomfort.
The operation is performed under general anaesthesia and requires 2 nights at the hospital.
A protective nasal splint is worn for 8 days.
