Blepharoplasty LONDON, LYON, GENEVA
The purpose of eyelid surgery is to rejuvenate and illuminate the appearance of the eyes, removing excess skin or fat located on the inner side of the upper eyelids or below the lower eyelids.
THE PROCEDURE
The procedure can take place either under local or general anaesthesia, in cases where another surgical procedure is combined with this operation.
In order to carry out the procedure on the upper eyelid, the surgeon makes an incision in the eyelid fold. This scar is barely visible after a few weeks.
The same technique is used for the lower eyelid. The incision is located 1 or 2 mm under the eyelashes, the scar is therefore hidden by naturally forming skin folds.
The skin is lifted away and the fat removed.
The operation takes about 40 minutes for both eyelids.
THE AFTER-EFFECTS
Since the skin on the eyelids is very thin, significant swelling is often present, accompanied by ecchymosis (bruising). The eyes can sometimes be red and slightly irritated. They must be systematically protected from the sun.
The patient may feel a tension in the eye, without actual pain, and which will disappear within a few days.
Applying makeup is possible and even recommended 3 to 4 days after the procedure.
