Liposuction
This procedure helps vacuum localized excess fat that has resisted multiple diets or workout programmes.
Liposuction cannot be referred to as a weight loss method; it helps re-contour the figure.
THE PROCEDURE
The procedure can concern one or more parts of the body. The most frequently targeted areas are:
- The abdomen
- The hips
- The sides of the thighs ("saddle bags")
- The inner thighs
- The inner knees
- The calves
- The arms
- The face
- The back
It is conducted under local or general anaesthesia, depending on the case.
The patient is hospitalized for two days if the procedure is performed under general anaesthesia.
POST-OPERATIVE EFFECTS
Compressive clothing must be worn day and night for one month after the procedure, in order to reduce swelling and help correctly set the skin.
It is normal to feel tired after liposuction, with bruising forming in the treated areas. Patients are able to rapidly resume life as normal.
